While the food is excellent, the staff really nice, and the prices reasonable for Paris standards, what makes this place special is the crowd that frequents this place and the fantastic atmosphere that comes with it. On first sight, Café Charlot may seem somewhat pretentious, but it really is not (like totally so not!). The salmon burger is one of those unexpected culinary surprises that you just would not expect a burger to be, and the desserts, in particular the moelleux au chocolat (yes I like those things), are excellent as well.
What's also great about this place is that it serves food until laaaaaaate (was still dining the other night at around 0:30am) and did I mention the great atmosphere?
Go and have an espresso there and let me know how it went...lol.
