- a month ago My colleagues and I have been using MacMedics for years and love their service. Maybe because I haven't had a broken screen but they have been great with all other repairs and assistance. They did thoughtfully advise me when it was time to pull the plug on my old and dropped iMac (it was time) and they graciously handled the funeral arrangements for it. Being able to recycle it for me was a plus. I can't imagine going anywhere else for my Mac needs. I also give them 5 stars, 5 mice, and 5 apples.
- 4 months ago Mark - My desktop computer had a complicated problem; part of the electronics had failed, while most individual components were fine. Since they are a certified Mac Service Provider and Reseller MacMedics correctly diagnosed the problem, which endless Apple phone support had been unable to do. The replacement part and labor were free, since my computer was still covered by the AppleCare Protection Plan. My computer now works better than when it was new. I also got some excellent technical advice on maintaining the computer, including on back-up plans. I highly recommend MacMedics.
- 6 months ago I don't know how these guys go the previous positive ratings. Must be a change of ownership, or the owner's Great Aunt Bertha wrote them all. These guys took my computer with a small crack in the display screen and told me they could fix it, no problem. After almost a week, they gave it back to me with a BIGGER crack in the screen and told me they did not know how to fix it. The worst part is that when I asked the owner what he was going to do to compensate me for creating a larger repair problem, he said, "nothing, sue me". Don't trust these people! They clearly don't know what they are doing, and the owner is a jerk.
- a year ago Macintosh support in PG County. Took my 2006-era MacBook Pro here after it died. They convinced me it wasn't worth repairing. Instead, I ordered a replacement model. They added memory to my specifications and copied over the data from my old hard drive, something I couldn't have done on my own, while charging only the base $99 for labor. We had a bit of a misunderstanding over the cost of the memory, which I'm dinging them a point for, but it was resolved to my satisfaction. I'm looking forward to dealing with them on all my future Macintosh issues rather than driving to Annapolis or Columbia. (I wish I'd known about them a lot sooner as it would have saved me a lot of mileage!)
- 2 years ago Highly Recommended for Anything Apple-Related My Procedure: Installs of 8GB RAM and a 500GB hard drive in a MacBook Pro 13" about a month ago. Comments: Wow, this system has been flying since the upgrades! I run Parallels with Windows 7, 64-bit, in Crystal Mode. Even with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, Visio, and Project running in Windows (which is a pretty heavy load), the experience is incredible. I looked one day and found that I had started about 20 programs between the Mac environment and the Windows environment without a problem. Before the upgrades, both environments were sluggish and jerky, with just a few programs running in each. Now that each has 4GB RAM allocated, they both are wonderful! I have set up Parallels to start the Windows environment when booting the Mac and just leave Parallels running. I've had no ...
