The price was right, but buyer beware... The walls were EXTREMELY thin. I woke up the first night to my neighbors having sex. More power to them, but I don't want to hear. The second night, I could hear my other neighbors (a group of 5 or 6 women) socializing even though I had the TV on. The building is quite old and charming, but the "non-smoking" part of the hotel has no elevator. Wasn't a big deal to me but if I had had several bags, young children, or a health condition, it wouldn't have worked.

Terrible hotel. Do not stay here. I had to stay in a room with my two brothers to attend my Grandfather's funeral in Richmond. The staff was really rude to us the entire two night stay. They don't practice good business, had no appreciation for their customers and where their money comes from. Over the course of the 2 day stay we drank a few shy of a case of beer quietly in our room. At the end of the first day we declined room service because we didn't feel like being bothered. The next day was checkout day and we left on time. Realizing I left my dob kit there, I called the front desk where the attendant proceeded to make snide remarks at me about how we left the room a wreck and how it was going to ruin their afternoon to clean it up. Not true, the only mess were the empty beer bottles which we left nicely by the trash. The trash can was the size of a small shoebox, so there was no physical way to fit the bottles in there. I thought what we did was very considerate. We had also moved a chair to the other side of ... Show full review

very clean and quiet best two star hotel I've been to. got a non smoking room with a king bed. bedding seemed brand new. brick and stone work is pretty cool, too. I'm writing this review from my laptop out at the small (but well kempt) swimming pool on my second day at the hotel with my girlfriend. Next time I come to richmond to visit family, I'll definitely be staying at this hotel again... especially since it's under 80 dollars a night.

Clean and spacious room. Bathroom is well-equipped, but small. Unfortunately you will have the smell like someone was smoking in the bathroom, because the ventilation brings the smell in from the smoking rooms, even if you're staying in a non-smoking room.
