An Oasis | Even with the newer arrivals in the Crossroads Arts District, YJ's remains the best for general food purposes. From sandwiches to vegetarian entrees, from business people to local artists and musicians, from the free zines to the Art that surrounds you, YJ's has everything. The coffee is a must! Grab a cookie, too ~ they are always incredible. Hang outside if the weather is warm. |

This fantastic hybrid is part coffehouse, part home-cookin' cafe, and 100 percent social den -- a regular hangout for artists, musicians and downtown business types. The joint has enough fliers, eclectic artwork and knickknacks laying around to entertain the eye through a leisurely lunch, and live acoustic acts or DJs play (or not -- it's completely random) on the weekends. Y.J.'s also has one of the best sidewalk patios in town. Come spring, every rickety table and outside is occupied by cigarette-rolling regulars discussing the next 18th Street block party or fashion show.
