- Feb 29, 2012 Here'a the lowdown on Lutz...I had a blast! I was taken there before heading to a family gathering. The woman at the bar was super funny when she checked my ID, she said I didn't look a day over 22! She got a BIG TIP!
- Dec 24, 2011 I got lunch here and was pleasantly surprised ! Their menu is old school diner-ish and both my sandwich and my friend's corn dog were really good! The fries were fresh and tasty too. The waitress/bartender was friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend this place.
- Dec 14, 2011 I heard they serve burgers and fries now, and they added liquor... New owners run the Clinton St. pub too...
- May 18, 2010 Lutzarrific! The Lutz has been a Woodstock resident for a dog's age. Family owned since the 50's, it doesn't seem to have changed very drastically in that time. I visited recently after doing a "pool crawl", hunting the local bars for the best tables. Without a doubt, Lutz was the winner thanks to their newly renovated pool table. New felt, rails and bar cues actually made of wood, unlike the composite cues I used at nearby Putters and at Micky Finns'. Although the small space may feel a bit claustrophobic at first, you're bound to strike up a conversation with those sitting at the bar after your third or so warning that you're taking your shot right behind them. The patrons are friendly, the bartenders are laid back and the beer is cold-- just remember to bring cash, because they won't take your plastic.
- May 14, 2009 A true Portland tavern for the club weary "regular guy" The Lutz is about as good a place to drink if you aren't into the cologne and perfume saturated, too much bass laden crap scene in Portland. A mellow little joint that keeps the beer super cold and the bartenders treated my friends and I like we had known them for years. Lots of Pabst merchandise for sale (even panties). This is a fantastic place for the Pabst drinker. We had a great time and it wasn't too crowded, however, probably smartest place to go if you're the striped button-down shirt wearing, bought your jeans with the holes already in them, spiked hair and flip flops fake tan hollister crowd. Great jukebox but no food besides pretzels and chips and the like. All in all it's definitely worth a visit.
