Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 State Plaza: beautiful - - Nov 6, 2008
The room was beautiful: wide, big, clean, big TV....and also cheap. The nearest metro is 10 min walking far. But the overall location is very good. The National Mall is at few minutes from there, and you can find a CVS right next to the ...
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 State Plaza Hotel is not bad... - Tim H. - Nov 4, 2009
We stayed here last summer for several days and were satisfied with the room for the price- it was clean and comfortably furnished, albeit somewhat dated. The kitchen, though sparsely equipped, was a benefit that saved time and money. ...
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 A Bargain hotel for Washington. - A TripAdvisor Member - Oct 31, 2009
We have stayed at this hotel twice. Both times it has met all our expectations. The hotel is very reasonably priced, a bargain among DC hotels. It is located within easy walking distance of the Kennedy Center and George Washington ...
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 This place needs to be updated - A TripAdvisor Member - Oct 30, 2009
My husband and I stayed here for 2 days. Parking was good, parking attendant was friendly and you were allowed to park your car infront of hotel while you checked in. Then parking attendant takes your car to a parking garage ($30/day). ...

I stayed at the State Plaza Hotel in Washington, DC, the weekend of September 25-27, 2009, and absolutely loved it! The hotel is in a good location; a little off the beaten path, but you get what you pay for and the price is not ...
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Better than advertised - A TripAdvisor Member - Oct 29, 2009
Stayed one night at State Plaza Hotel in Washington DC based on the comments from trip advisor. Arrived by train and took the Metro subway to within five blocks of the hotel for $1.45. The room was HUGE and had a nice kitchen with a ...

The staff was great upon arrival. The hotel had no AC. When I called to the front desk they said they turned it off and only could access the heat. I asked for a fan to be brought to my room and they brought me a box fan which for the size room did not help any. The windows would not even open more than an inch to let air in. I read how much everyone raved about this hotel thinking it would be a place to stay but much to my surprise it was nothing like that. I will not be returning to this place would much rather pay for somewhere else. I guess the saying you get what you pay for is correct. The room it self was nice. « Hide

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Decent hotel, good location - A TripAdvisor Member - Oct 25, 2009
I think they jacked the price due to the Marine Corp Marathon being held that weekend, which we were not participating in. However, they upgraded us to a Junior Suite, which was way more room than we needed. We were meeting family ...

Our rate was 98.00/night and 30.00/night for garage parking. One of the cleanest hotels we've stayed in recently. Valets, concierge and housekeeping were very effecient and filled all of our requests promptly. 10 minute walk to the ...
