Exquisite lamb chops bhunna masala.... - DennisFG - Jul 23, 2009
I have not tasted such great spices before. The basement setting is a little odd with not-so-great smells at the entryway, but the seating area is well-ventilated so continue all the way in. Top ratings from me! ...

I brought my boyfriend here to celebrate a promotion a few weeks ago. It was later (about 9:30) and the place was pretty empty. We eat a lot of Indian food and were surpsied by the menu as we didn't recognize much but tried something new and it was incredible!... so incredible that we reminisce about it regularly and can't wait to get back there. The service was also very good and it was a nice atmosphere but I don't remember much besides how delicious it was. « Hide

during dinner time only! I've been here a couple of times, and have noticed quite a big difference in their food depending on when you go. Their lunch buffet is comparable with the other Indian restaurants in Harvard Sq. Not amazing ...

into this restaurant is its dingy entrance and stench emanating maybe from the restrooms. But the seating area is well done up, and the food makes up for any other problems with this place. Service is good. Parking in this area can be a problem. ...
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Delicious, great staff, great atmosphere - lbo906 - Sep 11, 2008
This place is fantastic. My boyfriend and I brought 20 people here for a birthday and they did a wonderful job. It's a small place, but they gave us a long table along the back wall. They accommodated extra people who showed up. ...

the tight-quarters basement. Not your typical Indian fare, the seafood and vegetarian options particularly stand out. The PESHAWRI CHOLE-Chickpeas cooked with ginger & onions in cilantro sauce-a favorite. The lunch buffet (the only lunch option) is possibly the ...

Much better elsewhere. - Chris N. - Aug 20, 2008
I have been here a few times and it is has been better than on my last visit; I won't be back. Poor service: not helpful, nor attentive: did not check back in during the entire meal to ask about the food, take another beer order and ...
Spectacular food (one of the most... - GarryG - Jun 17, 2008
inventive Indian restaurants in America) trumps minimalist service and decor. Don't miss the nemzi handi (spinach with mixed vegetables in a sauce I'd love to know how to reproduce) or the shahi nan. I only get to the Square a few times a year, but I always try ...
Tamarind Bay Made Me Wish Restaurants... - Non-Member, Reader - Feb 13, 2008
This is not the first time I have been to Tamarind Bay, but this is the first time I tried their lunch buffet. It was terrible compared to any other Indian buffets I've had in the area. The variety of the food was limited (although ...

I normally write quite a bit. But please just take my word for it. It's grubbier than the website makes it look, the food is mediocre, and the value...holy crap...don't they know that for the $15-18 they charge for a little bowl of ...
Tamarind Bay is the best (and most pricey)... - avocadogreen - Dec 4, 2007
Indian restaurant in Harvard Square. It's great for a romantic date or a special occasion with a few friends. The space is very small but cozy, and the food is delicious! Don't expect uber-traditional Indian food -- there's a slight twist to most dishes, but the ...
