With its extremely fresh and abundantly flavorful cuisine, Tanjore is Harvard Square?s best Indian restaurant. The breads, including the savory garlic naan, perfectly puffed poori, and peshwari naan stuffed with ground nuts and raisins, ...

Tanjore had been recommended by a friend, so we tried it out. Big mistake. The food was bland, and having eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants, I was not impressed. It was also kind of expensive. ...

The food here is as South Indian as George W. Bush is liberal. However, you can always go to a restaurant where the food isn't as authentic as is claimed, but the friendly service more than makes up for it. Not so here. The service is as hideous as the food. Our waiter was grim as an undertaker, and didn't even smile when we left him a decent tip (which he didn't deserve). Please do visit this restaurant if you are a glutton for punishment and do not like to be treated well. Oh by the way, the roof leaked on to our food. When we politely pointed that to the waiter, it was met with an exasperated sigh, as if we just committed a terrible mistake for which he was going to chastise us. « Hide

Definitely a bad restaurant. Not only was the food below average but the treatment Indians got at this restaurant is also pathetic. Being an Indian restaurant run by Indians they are racists and favor white skin over brown skin. ...

After reading the reviews, i decided to give this restaurant a try during my visit to Boston. It has a distinctly south indian name, so we decided to try their dosas. They are the worst i have had in the last twenty years. The chutney and sambhar they serve is awful. Please, if anyone from the restaurant is reading, STOP serving "south indian" food. You will be better off. We also ordered a lamb dish which was too sweet and had some nasty smell associated with it. In fact, every dish we ordered had some sugar added to it. However, the appetizers were decent. « Hide

Worst place to go if you are looking for a good dinner experience...seriously..... all the dishes they make are rather pre cooked, i have no idea why people tend to like them as much as they do! Adding to that is the service which I ...

We went to this restaurant with family one evening to have chaats...we ordered behl puri, samosa chat and papri chat. While bhelo puri and samosa chat were fresh and tatsty, the papri used in papri chat was old and smelt stale spoiling the taste of the chat. I informed the steward and they were kind enough to give another plat of papri chaat "on the house"...this time around the papri used was fresh and tatsted good. I appreciate the fact that the restaurant took immediate corrective action on the feedback given. « Hide

What makes Tanjore worthwhile is that it offers regional dishes that other places don't - so if you're looking for a dosa, then ... |

I've been to Tanjore for their lunch buffet and for occasional take out snacks. Their dining area is cold and often unpleasant and their food isn't anything special. They add 18% tip to parties of 6 or more, which is completely ...
