| So far, my husband and I are very pleased with the treatment we have had and continue to have at Northern Fertility. We are working with Dr. Castelbaum and from the initial visit till the present, he and his staff have been nothing less than professional and caring. Dr. Castelbaum has taken great care/concern with my case (lots of medical history/problems) and is always willing to discuss my results in detail as well the reasons for his chosen method of treatment. From the very beginning my husband and I were both tested. I have never been given any drugs if the time was not right or if my hormone levels were not up to par. I have also never been given unnecessary testing. In fact, there is great care involved in what tests I am given or not, simply out of concern for my well being. We have been working with this practice since January of 2009 and we have never been treated unfairly. This is also our first month since we started that fertility drugs were prescribed. I even requested a second consult with the Dr and everyone was glad to accomodate. Dr. Castelbaum was more than willing to make sure we were all on the same page and I left my second consult just as pleased as when I left the first time. My husband and I have complete trust in our Dr here at Northern Fertility and Reproductive Associates and are very much looking forward to our first month of trying to conceive with a bit of assistance. With any luck we will have an Easter stork or a Mothers Day to remember! « Hide |

| My experience at Northern Fertility this past year was less than stellar. After more than a year of not conceiving, my husband and I went to the practice to undergo testing to find out what our fertility issues were (if we had any). Dr. Guttman is very nice, but after numerous blood tests and internal ultrasounds (over a 6-week period) proving I was producing normal hormone levels and ovulating normally, she recommended Clomid. Dr. Gocial also did a post-coital (after intercourse) test that week and said he did not like how slowly the sperm were moving and recommended artificial insemination. They never set up/performed a normal sperm analysis for my husband. After taking two weeks away from the practice, we got pregnant on our own. After I went to the office for bloodwork to confirm, they wanted me to go on Progesterone supplements even though at 4 weeks pregnant my levels were normal at 16. They took blood 3 times in 10 days needlessly. They said they recommend this for almost all of their patients. They also wanted to do an internal ultrasound weekly. The office staff was rude to me when I declined to set up another appointment and asked for my records to be transferred to my regular OB/GYN. All in all, I believe they are good doctors, but they are way too overzealous. We wanted to know if we had fertility issues and the proper testing was not done before they prescribed procedures and drugs we did not need. « Hide |
