| This restaurant used to be one of our favorites in its old location. I felt confident booking a reservation in the new location for a special occasion on a Saturday night. I was so disappointed. It was possibly the worst restaurant experience that I have ever had! The restaurant was overbooked, understaffed, and had run out of the specials of the day, as well as a good portion of the regular menu items! We waited 20 minutes for menus, could not get wine glasses - we were told a busboy had dropped two trays of glasses - and had to resort to opening one of our bottles of wine ourselves. We were served bread, but had to ask many times for butter...when the butter arrived, it was one little dish with one tablespoon of butter! (And the second basket of bread was burned.) My husbands first and second choices of entree were unavailable. The chef prepared a seafood platter as a replacement which had very few of the original elements - no calamari, no octopus - and it arrived overdone. As a matter of fact, none of the entrees were professionally prepared...overcooked, undersauced. I half expected Gordon Ramsey to emerge from the kitchen screaming...It was a disaster. I am not even sure the food was fresh. (My husband was ill the next day.) Our waiter did try to make things right, but he was unable to combat the sheer volume of screw-ups in the kitchen. To be fair, we were not charged for my husbands entree. Mezza Luna was one of our favorite restaurants, and was uniformly excellent over the years. Its new incarnation, Bella Luna, was a disaster for us. « Hide |
